I've spent the last decade-plus turning messy data into models that people trust enough to act on. These days that means leading pricing and valuation analytics at Caterpillar, where our models help value tens of thousands of pieces of equipment worth billions of dollars. Before that, I ran genomic data science at Bayer, where the work translated into real dollars, north of $10M a year in value. What I care about most isn't the algorithm itself, but whether the people making the decision actually understand and trust what the model is telling them.
